Indoor Accommodations

We offer dorm-style indoor accommodation through Sophia House, a lovely retreat center nestled in over 200 acres of tranquil woods located one mile from the Twin Oaks Community. If you are a woman with special needs, e.g. electricity for CPAP machines, wheelchair accessibility, etc., then the retreat center is where you will want to stay as our camp site is rough and primitive. Due to limited availability, we are prioritizing this space for women with special needs first. Please contact gathering@twinoaks.org if you would like to book this space. The cost is $30/night in addition to the regular registration fee.

The retreat center sleeps 32 people in two lower-level dormitory rooms, accessible by stairs or elevator and outfitted with bunk beds. There are three bathrooms–two of which are directly across the hall from the bedrooms–and two showers. Because Sophia House is built into the side of a hill, there are lovely views of a pond and access to the outdoors from the dormitory rooms. Comforters, sheets, pillow cases, towels, and washcloths are provided. The kitchen will only be available for boiling water for coffee or tea and otherwise its use is not permitted during the gathering. It is expected that attendees will be at the Gathering for all meals.
Participants electing this option will be responsible for their own transportation back and forth to the Gathering.
